Should you spend your money on Mr. Pink? Is it worth it?
It’s not the cheapest car soap on the market, and it’s probably not the best. But, Mr. Pink is a solid product, and you might want to consider buying it.
That’s it. End of review. I give it a 5/5!

No.
It’s not far from being a 5-star product. And for many years, I believed it was one.
What’s the deal with Mr. Pink?
Why do so many detailers like it? Even ones who normally don’t use CG products, still use Mr. Pink. It’s probably not because they love the smell of bubblegum.
For maintenance washes, this is hands down one of the best shampoos on the market. It’s versatile, works great in a bucket, foam gun, or foam cannon. I have used it all three ways.
As to why detailers like it… well, because of foam, that’s why.
Years ago, when I first read into detailing and was learning everything I could in my free time – Mr. Pink was the product everyone raved about. In forums, where normally Meguiars was getting all the love.
I’m sure that inspired a lot of people, like me, to get out and buy Mr. Pink. That’s exactly what I did when I bought my first foam cannon.
And of course, I was not disappointed.
Cleaning power
The number one complaint is that this pink car shampoo doesn’t have enough cleaning power.
I can see that.. but, they are missing the point. This is the ideal car shampoo for maintenance washes.
With that said, I can honestly say I got by without a wheel cleaner for a year, and all I used was Mr. Pink. It got the job done.

Safe on all coatings
You can use Mr. Pink if you have a ceramic coated vehicle. You can also use it if you have a wax or any other type of coating on the car. It will not strip your coating.
That’s why this is an ideal maintenance wash soap. It’s pH neutral, safe on coatings, and cleans well.
A problem rinsing off
I haven’t personally experienced this problem, but some people say it leaves some sort of residue that doesn’t come off easily. I am not sure if they’re getting the product mixed up with another one. But, this doesn’t have any wax or leave any sort of glaze.
Chemical Guys does make a newer product, Mr Pink Foam Party Wash and Wax. Maybe that one does? I haven’t tried it yet, so I don’t know.
My process
I typically rinse the vehicle first, then foam it up and let it dwell a few minutes. I used to wait 15 minutes if it wasn’t too sunny.. but honestly, I just give it a few minutes these days.
After that, I rinse it once more, then foam it once more, and do a contact wash. I do it this way because I typically have a lot of foam left over, so the second foam can be skipped. I just like to have all the soap on there possible.
I also have Mr. Pink in my wash bucket.
Moving forward
It’s time I move on and try more car shampoo products. I’m looking into some DIY Detail and Koch Chemie stuff to try. I have used all of the Meguiar’s shampoos, and love them all.
I just want to test out other ones. I recently tested and reviewed Chemical Guys Extreme Bodywash and Wax. It’s actually better than I thought it would be.
And one more thing. CG Honeydew Snow Foam is basically the same as Mr. Pink, just different color and scent.
